Complex assessment of the structures of the foot and legs, focussing on the relevance to pain experienced in standing, walking or other physical activity. Assessment will incorporate hands on movement of the feet and legs, combined with standing posture and movement in gait (walking and running as needed). Assessment of specific activities that lead to pain will also be undertaken.
At S G Active Podiatry we exist to help people maximise their foot health and comfort, whether that is through expert assessment and management of muscular, soft tissue or joint pain when walking or in other activities, or by regular treatment of nails, callus or corns. Helping our patients understand the nature of their conditions and what they can do themselves to maximise their comfort in daily activity is at the centre of all we do.

Once this is concluded a customised treatment plan will be developed in consultation with the patient in order to best achieve their aims. This may include exercises for strength and stability, and or flexibility. Alongside orthoses as needed to adjust the foot and legs relationship to the floor, reducing ‘mechanical strain’ on the affected structures, enabling recovery from pain and protecting from further strain.
